Burzichelli, Simmons & Bailey Deliver $38,000 for Glassboro Little League

Glassboro, NJ – On August 31st, 2024, at the Glassboro Little League field at Jim McGehrin Park, State Senator John Burzichelli and Assemblywoman Heather Simmons announced that they, alongside Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr., have successfully procured $38,000 for Glassboro Little League in the 2025 state budget. The legislators presented the organization with a check to commemorate the funding.

“Supporting local youth sports is something that is very important to me, Assemblywoman Simmons, and Assemblyman Bailey,” said Senator Burzichelli.  “To be in a position to deliver this funding is a privilege for us as legislators.”

The funds will specifically help cover the costs of safety nets for the baseball field.

“Youth sports are an essential part of our community,” said Assemblywoman Simmons. “The funding provided here will not only contribute to a thriving local youth sports culture, but also ensure our kids’ safety while they have a great time playing.”

“Athletics can make a profound and positive difference in the lives of young people, and we will always seek out ways to help make sure these opportunities are available to them in South Jersey,” said Assemblyman Bailey.

In addition to the commemorative $38,000 check, Senator Burzichelli and Assemblywoman Simmons also presented the Glassboro Little League players and coaches with ceremonial resolutions honoring them for winning the 2024 New Jersey Junior Little League District 15 Championship.
