Senior Resource Fair to be Held at Salem Community College on July 18, 2024

Salem, NJ – Senator John Burzichelli, Assemblywoman Heather Simmons & Assemblyman Dave Bailey are hosting a Senior Resource Fair on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

This community-focused event will take place in Davidow Hall at Salem Community College (460 Hollywood Avenue, Carneys Point, NJ 08069 – Parking Lot C with shuttle available).

“This Senior Resource Fair will be an excellent opportunity for seniors, especially those in Salem County, to obtain valuable resources, information, and services,” said Senator John Burzichelli. “We will be joined by a great variety of state and local organizations, healthcare providers, and community groups that specialize in senior care and support.”

Event Highlights:
  • New Jersey State Agencies: Information on ANCHOR benefits, veterans benefits, Medicare premiums, property tax reimbursement programs, USDA home grants/loans, NJ SAVE, and more.
  • Health Screenings: Free Health Screenings on site, including blood pressure testing, blood sugar testing, and cholesterol checks. Learn about healthy aging, senior safety, and emergency preparedness.
  • Informational Booths: Representatives from various organizations will offer information on healthcare access, will preparation, power of attorney, aging parents, farm market vouchers, transportation, housing, grief sharing, addiction issues, prescription interactions, and more.
  • New Jersey Motor Vehicle Mobile Unit: Real ID, license renewal, veteran designation, organ donation, boat endorsements, and more. Pre-register herehttps://telegov.njportal.com/njmvcmobileunit/

“This is not only a great way for seniors in South Jersey to access a lot of extremely helpful information, but it’s an opportunity to socialize and connect with neighbors and community organizations,” said Assemblywoman Heather Simmons.

“This event truly has a lot to offer to seniors in Salem, Gloucester, and Cumberland Counties,” said Assemblyman Dave Bailey, Jr.. “We are very excited to be hosting it, and we can’t wait to see everyone there.”

This event is free and open to all seniors and their caregivers. Food will be provided courtesy of Salem Health & Wellness, Cross Point Weselyan Church, and Spina Farms. No pre-registration is required (although pre-registration is required for Motor Vehicle Mobile Unit services such as REAL ID).
